GRAND DOMINION SINGERS are preparing for their next concert scheduled
for Friday, June 29 at 7 pm. Mark your calendars now and well be
selling tickets in May. We continue to grow with a few new members but
we always welcome more. We rehearse presently on Thursdays at 6-8 pm
through May 10th. Then we will switch our rehearsals to Mondays,
starting 5/14/12, from 7-9 pm until the end of the summer. There will
be one exception for a rehearsal on Thurs. 5/31 (6-8 pm) to make up for
Memorial Day when we don't rehearse. Please come join us if you love
music. Reading music is NOT required. Many of our members don't read
music and yet back a huge contribution with their love and enthusiasm of
music.
The chorus has aspirations to be as great as possible and the purchase of more risers are an essential ingredient for that plan, as well as, eventually, a better sound system and other appropriations. However, our ticket prices alone don't meet all our necessary costs. So we've had a couple of fantastic benefactors who have offered to match up to $400 of funds donated toward our capital fund drive. Already we have over $200 of raised funds that will be matched but we will happily and appreciatively accept any funds donated from the general population in or out of Grand Dominion. So if you have a few extra dollars you'd like to contribute to the Grand Dominion Singers, whether you're a member or not, please send any amount to Martha Swan, 3260 Bagatelle Ln. 60060-6001 and mark your check for the Capital Fund of GD Singers. Thank you in advance for your consideration and support. We do hope to raise additional funds along the way with a few ads in our programs and a "sponsored day" at one of our local restaurants.

HELPING HANDS
Do YOU need a helping hand? Maybe Helping Hands can help!
Helping Hands
is a group of residents who want to lend their “hands” to other
residents within the community who may need assistance of some kind. This may take the form of:
· A social phone call or get well wish
· Help around the home in time of sickness or healing
· A ride to an appointment, a store, pharmacy, physical therapy on a limited or occasional basis
· A wellness visit

· Card recognition for illness or loss of a loved one
· Community information dissemination
· Local resource materials
· Web portal training
The
group’s purpose and function is based solely on the need for assistance
and will maintain the utmost sense of privacy and respect at all times. The
